Our Mission

We’re embarking on a week-long bikepacking journey through Iceland’s Westfjords—riding bikes we built by hand—to fuel hope and advance life-saving ovarian cancer research. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation to help drive critical advancements in early detection and treatment.

Hannah &
Christian’s Story

Cancer has had a profound impact on Christian’s wife, Hannah’s, life—her mother battled breast cancer twice, and her grandmother lost her fight. Thanks to advancements in cancer research, genetic testing revealed that Hannah and two of her three siblings carry the BRCA mutation, significantly increasing their risk of a future cancer diagnosis.

Determined to take action, Hannah suggested that she and Christian participate in BC’s Ride to Conquer Cancer. Though both were new to cycling, the experience became a powerful way for them to channel fear into purpose. That first ride sparked Christian’s love for biking and deepened their shared commitment to supporting cancer research.

The Diagnosis

Three years later, at just 29, Hannah received the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. Only a few months after, her younger sister, Bethany, also tested positive following her first screening. With a chance as low as 3% of developing cancer before age 30 for those with the BRCA gene, both sisters defied the odds in the most challenging way. Together, they faced fertility treatments, chemotherapy, and surgeries. After a long and difficult journey, both are now cancer-free, standing strong as survivors in their battle against this disease.

The Riders

Christian and Matt have been close friends for over a decade, brought together by a shared love of adventure and the endless outdoor opportunities British Columbia has to offer. From skiing and hiking to road cycling and bikepacking, they’re always chasing their next challenge.

Their experience on multi-day bikepacking trips has built a strong foundation, but the rugged 925 km journey through Iceland’s Westfjords will be their biggest undertaking yet.

This trip is about more than adventure—it’s deeply personal. Matt supported Christian and his wife, Hannah, through her cancer journey. Now, he’s not only riding beside Christian but also handcrafting the custom bikes that will carry them across Iceland’s most remote terrain.
