RIDING FOR A CURE
Westfjords, Iceland
July 25th - August 6th 2025

Our Mission
We’re embarking on a week-long bikepacking journey through Iceland’s Westfjords—riding bikes we built by hand—to fuel hope and advance life-saving ovarian cancer research. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation to help drive critical advancements in early detection and treatment.
Our Story
Cancer has had a profound impact on Hannah’s life—her mother battled breast cancer twice, and her grandmother lost the fight. Genetic testing, made possible by cancer research, revealed that Hannah and two out of her three siblings carry the BRCA mutation, increasing their risk for a cancer diagnosis.
Determined to take action, Hannah suggested we ride in BC’s Ride to Conquer Cancer. Though we were new to cycling, it became a powerful way to turn fear into purpose. That experience sparked my love for biking and strengthened our commitment to funding cancer research.
Three years later, at just 29, Hannah received the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. Only a few months after, her younger sister, Bethany, also tested positive following her first screening. With only a 2-3% chance of developing cancer before age 30 for those with the BRCA gene, both sisters defied the odds in the most challenging way. Together, they faced fertility treatments, chemotherapy, and double mastectomies. After a long and difficult journey, both are now cancer-free, standing strong as survivors in their battle against this disease.
